Volunteers are a vital part of the Meadows Mennonite Retirement
Community. Volunteers reach out with their individual interests,
skills and talents to help meet a variety of needs within the
organization.  In 2008 a total of 4,039 hours were volunteered by
Senior and Student volunteers.

Volunteers are a very important part of our team here at Meadows
and are considered a part of the team approach to caring for our
residents.

Being a volunteer is a way of showing that you care, and we consider
our volunteers a part of the team approach to caring for the aged.

Goals of the Volunteer

To help provide the residents with that “Something
extra” and be somebody who cares about them and
their personal needs.

To help each resident retain personal dignity and
maintain confidence in himself / herself.

To give the resident a feeling of a caring community
of people dedicated to his/her well-being.

To provide the means for the volunteer to feel a
sense of satisfaction in serving others.

To provide that extra pair of hands for the paid staff.
